CoachellArtist of the Day: The xx (“Crystalised”)
No real elaboration here. I think The xx makes pretty great night city driving music, and their debut album is pretty fantastic. That’s all.

Okay, f’reealz, it’s a month and a half away. Time to really digest this lineup and make a few recommendations. I was rather intoxicated on Saturday night celebrating my birthday, and a buddy who’s coming to Coachella wanted suggestions on bands to get into, so here goes nuffin’.
I love Miike Snow, and you should too. They wrote and produced a bunch of Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Britney Spears tracks (including “Toxic” - you should see this as a good thing), but their recordings as a band are straight up electro-pop rock bliss. They fit that classic vibe I love of chill dance music.
I’m a big fan of nearly every track on their self-titled debut, especially Animal, Burial, and Sans Soleil. Listen to the whole album streaming at Myspace.
